China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) has stated that China will help build additional housing units in Maldives.
President of the company, Mr. Zhang Chun made this remark speaking at the Fukang at the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Housing Project of the Maldives-Phase II under Chinese soft loan.
Mr. Zheng stated that the 1000 units they began developing in Hulhumale’ on 2011 were completed and handed over to the government on 2013.
The current project is a 1500 housing unit developing project and additional flats is planned to be developed in the southern four atolls.
President Zhang expressed his appreciation for the ‎support and cooperation received from the Government of Maldives in ‎undertaking the housing development project.
‎He said that China will assist President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom's plan to develop Hulhumale' as a Youth City.
