Hassan Latheef has submitted a lawsuit against the Ministry of Home Affairs’ suspension on him and banning him from visiting persons at the prison.
Former President Mohamed Nasheed’s lawyer Uz. Latheef was banned prison visits by the Home Ministry. He was notified by a letter sent to him، signed by Home Minister Umar Naseer، saying that Latheef was permitted to visit jailed ex-president over many occasions.
The letter further read that Latheef، after his visits، spread false information to the public via social media and other platforms، whether on his will or what he was asked.
The letter said that Hassan Latheef was banned from visiting anyone in the prison for a month، as the falsified information he spread to social media and other platforms affect the society and the State.
Hassan Latheef has filed a lawsuit in court to nullify the ban order by the Home Ministry.
