Thirty one Maldivian Policemen who participated in the Fire Arms Course offered by Sri Lanka STF Police Training School have accomplished their course.
The course which commenced on the eighth of September and continued till the fourth of this month, was one of the opportunities given to the Maldivian Police by their companion country as a means of extending their services, to get them the appropriate training and education.
Both Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Saudi and Central Operations Commander Head Chief Superintendent of Police, Ismail Naveen from Maldives made an appearance at the closing ceremony of the course.
The course was initiated and offered to the Commissioner of Police Hussein Waheed during an official visit he made to Sri Lanka this year.
Police stated that applications for the course was made open for all individuals in the field, where decisions were made by the Scholarship Board after a screen test. A variety of policemen ranging from Chief Inspector of Police to other different rankings, participated in the course.
Police noted that this course was provided under their Business plan which includes cooperating with allying countries to extend their knowledge and experience in the field by receiving the appropriate training and education necessary to excel.
