Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Vice-president and Member of Parliament for Fonadhoo constituency Abdul Raheem Abdulla says that President Abdulla Yameen will win the 2018 presidential election with nearly 75 or 80 percent of the votes.
He said this while speaking at today’s parliament while debating on the report of the National Security Committee regarding the terrorism prevention bill.
Speaking while criticizing Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and its members, he said that there are many citizens who support the current government.
He said that Yameens government is doing everything in a fair and just manner, and that it is carrying out development projects at a fast pace. Therefore he said that Yameen would win the election with 75 to 80 percent of the votes.
He said that Yameen's government is taking steps without looking at social status, and that citizens can see it.
Several opposition members expressed discontent at the contents of the new bill.
