'Arutha Award' given to 80 artists

Maldives Society for Performing Arts (MSPA) has held the ‘Arutha Award’ ceremony last night at Olympus theater.
Arutha Award is given in acknowledgment of those who are in the Entertainment Industry, and those who had helped the Industry in various ways.
Awards were given out to 80 artists from 10 categories belonging to Film, Dance and Music.
The Awards given out included High Honor Award, Diamond of Honor Award, Gold Star of Acknowledgement, Silver Star of Acknowledgement, Discipline Award and Commemoration Award.
In the grandest Award Ceremony held in Maldives Commemoration Award was given to the Late Haajara Abdul Kareem, Late Ahmed Manik, Late Ahmed Sharmeel, Late Ibrahim Naseer (Maalheboo Naseer), Late Hassan Ali (Dash Hassan).
High Honor Award was given out to Mohamed Musthafa Hussain, Ahmed Nashid (Fuloo Nashid), Hussain Rasheed (Mahma), Mohamed Habeeb (Benha), Mohamed Ibrahim (Boakoshaa), Hassan Haleel (Masodi), Mohamed Rasheed (Kopi), Hussain Shihaab, Ibrahim Hamdi, Mohamed Rasheed (Dharaa).
Maldives Society for Performing Arts (MSPA) says that Arutha Award will be given each year.
In addition MSPA has announced that starting this month a special stage show in the name of ‘Weekend Night - Nagaa Foari Nagaa’ will be held at Hulhumale’.
The main aim of this show will be to give opportunities for new talent in the fields of singing and dance.
