Maldivian students, families in Nepal safe: Foreign Ministry

Maldivian Foreign Ministry, on Saturday assured Maldivians that all Maldivian students and their families in Nepal are safe.
The Ministry said that they were reaching out all students and families in Nepal, and noted that so far they have learnt that everyone is safe.
The Ministry had also requested to contact 7983400, if anyone wishes to clarify any information or share any information regarding the incident.
Dr Migdhaad Shareef - a medicine student in Nepal - revealed to Vnews that there are around 30 Maldivian students in Kathmandu, and noted that all of them were safe.
A powerful 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck Kathmandu earlier on Saturday, killing over 900 in Nepal. The toll is expected to rise, as rescue workers dig out the rubble after the quake left most parts of the capital of Nepal in ruins.
