A trademark logo to identify all Maldivian products are to be printed on all products according to the Economic Ministry of the Maldives.
The ministry revealed that the decision was to promote, and develop the products of the Maldives and an attempt to bring in more markets for the products.
Economic Ministry revealed that works are underway to create a "Genuine Maldivian Product" logo, or a certification scheme. The ministry had opened a competition to design the logo for Maldivian products.
The competition, open to all individuals have a set prize of MVR 25,000 for the first place winner in addition to being featured as the logo of the Genuine Maldivian Product certifications.
Rules and regulations, along with the participation form will be available for download from the website of the Economic Ministry.
The competition will be open till November 2nd.
