A Maldivian student has died in Sri Lanka after being electrocuted.
The incident reportedly occurred early Thursday morning. Maldivian High Commission in Colombo was unavailable for comments.
18-year old Ali Naail is a former player for the under 19 national football and handball teams.
He was electrocuted after coming into contact with a high voltage power cable, while trying to climb over the wall to enter his own house, which was locked.
Naail’s body is currently at the Kalubowila Hospital mortuary.
