Famous blogger, Hilath Rasheed has claimed that he knows those behind the "Maldivian Atheists' Facebook page, which mocks Allah and the Prophets, and speaks against Sharia Law on Sunday.
Former journalist, Hilath made the statement in a post published on his online blog.
"I know who runs Maldivian Atheists Facebook page. I met them in Male'. I don't know their real names or addresses but I know their FB nicknames but I am going to keep it a secret even if the ISIS killed me", Hilath wrote.
He added that Sulthona, and missing journalist Ahmed Rilwan - the two who are being accused of being behind the disrespectful page are innocent.
Addressing the disappearance of the journalist and the accusations, the blogger said that it is a cheap trick used by the government to justify their stand in the case.
"Now "president" Yameen is using the same cheap trick: spread the lie that Rilwan was anti-Islamic and an admin of the Maldivian Atheists page and hey presto, most devote Maldivians find it acceptable that Rilwan should be kidnapped and killed", He wrote.
Writing further about the issue, Hilath accused Ismail Abdul Raheem, a spy for the Wahabbi-Salafis in the Maldives Police Force, of being the culprit of the kidnapping.
Hilath also posted a screenshot of a message that Rilwan had sent to him through Facebook back in the month of February. Rilwan had asked Hilath about information regarding the person who was found guilty of attacking him in Artificial Beach, and said that the same person had been stalking him for the past few days.
