Maldivian man who had been missing for 60 years returns home

A man who had traveled to Sri Lanka and had been gone missing for the last 60 years has returned home to the Maldives after living in India.
Mohamed Saeed of Mugurige, Seenu Hithadhoo, flew in this morning from Hyderabad, India where he is now settled.
Saeed who is now 73 years of age, arrived in Hulhule’ around 10:15 am this morning after a long flight from Hyderabad and is scheduled to depart to his hometown in Addu this evening. At the moment, Saeed is stationed in Hulhumale’.
While Saeed gave no interviews on his arrival, his brother in law Abdullah Thariq spoke on his behalf stating that although he was not so fluent in speaking in his mother tongue Saeed is willing to give interviews in due time.Thariq noted that one of the reasons for not giving any interviews as yet was because Saeed was weary from travelling.
While reporters tried to inquire him with many questions, in response to the asking how he was, Mr. Saeed simply replied in Hindi, stating “What do I say? I am finally in the Maldives.”
“Although he speaks in Hindi, I should say that he is very fast in reading Dhivehi. He is actually faster than us when he is reading the newspapers written in Dhivehi,” Thariq noted.
“I should also add that he is a very brave man. It has been a long journey for him, he has been on the road since twelve am in the morning,” Thariq added.
Saeed went missing when he was of the age of thirteen during a visit to Sri Lanka. His family in the Maldives only found out about his whereabouts when he finally contacted them from Hyderabad recently. Saeed is here today upon invitation from his family who had gone to visit him in Hyderabad.
Saeed has seven children with his wife, two of whom are based in Dubai. He is an established and well-known practitioner for traditional medicine in Hyderabad.
