Numerous schools across the Maldives marked a colorful World Teachers’ Day on Wednesday with a flurry of activities.
Schools in capital Malé, where students treated themselves with decorating their classrooms, started the day with a special assembly.
Kicking the celebrations into high gear this year, the schools held numerous activities such as cake-cutting distribution of gifts and even some feasts, while teachers and parents orchestrated their share of sports activities.
A parent told Vnews that the purpose of celebrating Teachers’ Day is to acknowledge the importance of teachers and their services.
