Former president Mohamed Nasheed has travelled to the US on Thursday to take part in a panel discussion held during Sundance Film Festival.
The panel discussion, Power of Story: The New Climate, is set to take place on Sunday.
In addition to Nasheed, who has sought political asylum from the UK following his imprisonment, former vice president of the US Al Gore, global entrepreneur and philanthropist Jeff Skoll, scientist and broadcaster Dr. David Suzuki and filmmaker Heather Rae will take address the panel discussion, with moderator Amy Goodman
The Sundance Film Festival kicks off on Thursday with Al Gore’s documentary film “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power” – the follow-up to 2006’s “An Inconvenient Truth” which won the Oscar for Best Documentary.
In addition to “An Inconvenient Sequel”, thirteen other films related to climate change will be premiered at the film festival.
