The Indian Cabinet permits resumption on the signed agreement to provide assistance in Maldivian health sector.
The governments of the Maldives and India signed this agreement on January 2014.
According to Economic Times of India, the passing of this bill was initiated by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The government of India has issued a statement saying that as a part of this agreement, india would be providing training sessions for the medical officials in the Maldives, as well as giving opportunities to for further education in medicine in India.
The government further elaborates that they would also be sending professional from India to train the medical officers in the Maldives, and would also be helping to expand the hospitals and its services in Maldives.
In addition to this, the government of India hopes that this new agreement would strengthen the ties between the two countries.
This agreement was signed by President Abdulla Yameen during an official trip to India.
