A Maldivian has been arrested in Sri Lanka Wednesday night for possession of drugs, according to local media in Lanka.
Lanka's "Daily Mirror" reported that the Maldivian man was arrested with 169 grams of heroin. They added that the man had been staying in a hotel in Dhehiwala, after travelling to the country on tourist visa.
They also noted that "police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) is questioning him."
It is noted that Maldivians frequently travel to Lanka for medical and business purposes. There are about 10,000 Maldivians currently residing in Lanka.
