Departure of a Maldivian Airlines flight was delayed today, after it collided with a stork, while attempting to land at Daravandhu Airport.
The incident occurred today, around 8:45 a.m.
Despite hitting the bird, the airplane landed safely.
An official for the airline revealed that despite a slight delay, operations are now back on schedule.
Island Aviation noted that such an incident while in air is dangerous. They also added that quick action is necessary if birds frequent the skies around airports.
