Maldivian 'jihadist' dies in Syria

Bilad Al Sham Media (BASM), a 'jihadist' group in Syria reported on Saturday that another Maldivian had been killed in the ongoing war between Jabhat Al Nusra and the Syrian government.
BASM reported that ‘Abu Fulan’ had been killed during jihad, however they did not reveal a date on which the man died.
"He was a great companion and a pious brother who feared Allah who made hijrah for the sake of Allah and strove hard in the cause of Allah trying his utmost to be among the martyrs especially after the martyrdom of his close companions Abu Turab, Abu Nuh, Abu Dujanah, and Abu Ibrahim," the group revealed through their Facebook page.
This marks the fifth Maldivian to die in war in Syria. There are about 20 Maldivians in Syria, allegedly taking part in the jihad. Lately, there have been many instances where Maldivians flying off to Syria for war had been apprehended.
They also reported that the wife of the dead had seen a dream before his death, where he was among the slaves who are close to Allah. She had narrated that she had smelt an extra ordinary beautiful smell after his 'martydom' while she was in sujood praying Fajr Salah.
Apart from this, they also revealed that Abu Fulan had been a student of Abu Dujanah; founder of the group, who had died during war last September.
The Civil War, which began three years ago to purge the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has taken about 200,000 lives so far. Maldivian police is also currently investigating the case of Maldivians flying to Syria through Turkey for war.
