A Maldivian man has been brought back after being arrested in Thailand, during his attempt to fly to Syria to join their civil war.
Police have confirmed the news, but no details have been given.
Police are currently investigating the case in which the man is suspected of attempting to join the terrorist group IS, although he is currently not in custody.
Many Maldivians have previously left to join the Syrian civil war as well, while some of them have died afterwards.
The government has begun work to criminalize the act of participating in civil wars in foreign countries.
