Maldivian students, who had attained higher studies from the famed Egyptian university, Al-Azhar University has formed an alumni association.
The association was registered on the 21st of September at the Home Ministry under the name "Azhar Alumni Association". The association revealed that the formation of the association is an attempt to create an atmosphere for the alumni of the university to interact, and to strengthen the bonds between them.
Aims of the association include raising awareness about religious issues, along with publishing reports based on various studies conducted by the association.
Many Maldivians have attained higher studies, in various sectors at the Al-Azhar University. The association revealed that anyone who had been a student of the university in the past would be able to be a part of the association.
