Government officials, who were in the United States to attend an international conference had been robbed on Saturday.
Speaking to Vnews, an official from the Foreign Ministry revealed that they had received the report of the incident on Saturday and added that the case is being investigated through the permanent mission located in New York City. However, the official did not reveal which conference they were to attend.
Their passport, and other valuable electronics are among the items which were robbed. Arrangements to bring the officials back to the Maldives are currently underway, according to the official from the Foreign Ministry.
It has been confirmed that the incident took place in San Francisco, where the officials were set to attend the Oracle Open World 2014 conference.
