National Essay, Short Story Writing Competition concluded

The 31st National Essay Writing Competition and the 28th Short Story Writing Competition has ended yesterday.
President of the Dhivehi Language Academy, Ashraf Ail, reported to Vnews that this years tournament was different than those from its previous years. The difference was that it was opened this time throughout the entire country, while the previous years limited the competition to Male only.
He added that the number of participants had almost neared about 700 people throughout 11 regions in Maldives. Also, contrary to the previous years, Ashraf noted that this years competition had received a considerably high praise.
He also stated that they are currently discussing on ways to make next years tournament outshine its already successful predecessors.
A total of 390 people took part in the Essay Writing Competition, out of which involved 371 students from 29 schools, as well as 19 independent participants.
Meanwhile, 285 people joined the Short Story Writing Competition, out which involved 276 students from 31 schools, while 9 independents took part.
Both competitions were initiated simultaneously across the country. The Essay Writing was held between the hours of 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by the Short Story Writing Competition which took place between the hours of 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
