Football: German FA to release World Cup film

BERLIN, October 8, 2014 (AFP) - Germany's Brazil 2014 victory will be shown on the silver screen next month when the German Football Association (DFB) release a 90-minute film of their World Cup triumph.
Entitled "Die Mannschaft" (The Team), the film goes behind the scenes of the entire campaign from their pre-tournament training camp in South Tyrol to their dramatic extra-time win over Argentina in the Rio de Janeiro final and celebrations in Berlin.
DFB team manager Oliver Bierhoff says the film will include footage shot by players and will go on release in German cinemas from November 10 after its premier in Berlin, before being shown on television here.
"In the movie, we try to get across the emotions on the pitch, inside our World Cup base and from within the squad," Bierhoff told reporters.
"We hope to bring the World Cup back in the memories of our fans towards the end of the year.
"And to show another perspective on how the team perceived and lived the tournament.
"Of course, we'll also show some goals."
The DFB released a similar film about the team's exploits when they finished third at the 2006 World Cup hosted by Germany.
