For the first time in local volleyball history, three Maldivian players have been offered the opportunity to play for a foreign club.
Speaking with VNews Hassan Amir (Police Amir) said that he was first given the opportunity via a friend, Suresh Kumar and that he then made the offer to fellow players, Ibrahim Adhil (Kokko) and Shiruhan Abdul Sattar (Sitte).
He said that as this is the first time local players will represent the country in a foreign tournament at club level, they would try to bring a good name to the country.
Hassan Amir has played for the Maldives national volleyball team. He was last seen playing for Club PK and Sun Island Volley team. Ibrahim Adhil (Kokko) has also played for the national team. Kokko was last seen wearing the colors of Club Goodies and Sun Island Volley team. Young volleyball star Shiruhan Abdul Sattar shone as a player for Club PK and in the Olhuvehi Beach Volley team.
