Gender ministry, in association with MI College, has begun conducting English classes for children at “Fiyavathi”, the children’s shelter in Hulhumale’.
According to the ministry, Allied Insurance is providing assistance to the program titled “Young Learner’s English”.
In addition, gender ministry said it will start conducting Quran and Islam classes for children at the shelter, who are three years and above, with the assistance of Center for the Holy Quran.
Thanking those who provide such assistance to the children’s shelter, gender ministry said it will work with various ministries, non-governmental organizations and companies to educate the children living at shelters.
As of now, “Fiyavathi”, which is a shelter for children below the age of ten, houses 85 children.
