Maldivian Immigration has won an international award. Immigration won this award in technology and solution sector for the passport and e-gate of Maldives.
This award was given by IAIR an Italian research institute. Controller of Immigration Muhammad Anavar, and Deputy Controller Abdullah Algeen accepted the award on behalf of Immigration.
The passport used in Maldives will show 34 characteristics of the passport holder including finger print and other biological information. It is a biometric passport and the most secure passport in the whole region.
With the e-gate, Maldivian passport holders will no longer have to show their passport to immigration officers. Using the e-gate passport holders can swipe the passport and give finger print to the system, and it will automatically record the passport holders arrival information.
