An Islamic Funeral Rituals course titled ‘Rules of Funeral 1’ is ongoing at Sh. Milandhoo.
Islamic Funeral Rituals course is organized by Sh. Milandhoo Women’s Development Committee (WDC) in collaboration with Dhaarul Quran Wassunnah.
According to Milandhoo WDC President Aishath Haniyya, the two week course began with 10 participants on May 25. Moreover, she stated that opportunity was given to the first ten participants who noted their names when opportunity was opened. And 6 males and 4 females participated in the course.
Furthermore, she stated that the course fee of MVR 1750 for the participants was paid by the WDC. In addition, she noted that they held discussion with the council to allow those who complete the course to perform funeral rituals on the island. Haniyya noted that discussions were successful and the council agreed to involve those completing the course in the funeral rituals of the deceased in the island.
Milandhoo WDC has a population of about 3,000 people.
