The Ministry of Education has contracted three companies to complete unfinished development initiatives in 18 local schools across multiple atolls.
The ministry has contracted Road Development Corporation (RDC), Fenaka Corporation, and Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to complete these projects for a collective project value of MVR 114.9 million.
During a ceremony held on Monday at the ministry, MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudhee, RDC’s Managing Director Brigadier General (Retired) Ali Zuhair, and Fenaka Corporation’s Managing Director Major (Retired) Mohamed Najah signed on behalf of their respective organizations.
The Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu signed on behalf of the ministry.
According to the ministry, despite the state providing funding to commence the projects and after multiple notices to their former contractors, these initiatives had been stalled indefinitely.
Out of the three contractors, MTCC was awarded the most number of projects, which include unfinished initiatives in the following islands:

HDh. Neykurendhoo
Sh. Bileyfahi
R. Innamaadhoo
R. Dhuvaafaru
B. Kudarikilu
AA. Mathiveri
Th. Gaadhiffushi
GDh. Vaadhoo
HA. Maarandhoo
K. Gulhi
Th. Madifushi
HDh. Naivaadhoo
L. Maavah
AA. Maalhos
RDC was awarded to finish the projects in AA. Maalhos and ADh. Fenfushi schools, while Fenaka Corporation was awarded the initiatives at M. Veyvah school.
Besides these unfinished projects, the government had contracted these companies with multiple other school development initiatives in other islands in the past days.
