A foreigner has been injured following an attack on them on Tuesday evening.
Reports confirm the incident took place near a park at Hulhumale' Phase II.
Maldives Police Service in a message shared with local media said, their officers were dispatched to the incident site and confirmed they had received report of an attack on a foreigner involving a sharp object.
The injured expatriate was taken to Hulhumale' Hospital for medical attention.
This is the second such incident reported from Hulhumale' within the current week, as an earlier attack was reported on Saturday.
Assault with deadly weapons remains a serious offence in the Maldives, with some of these incidents resulting in fatalities previously.
