Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) claims comparative increase in food imports for Ramadan in 2022.
According to MPL, the imports during the Ramadan in 2022 was higher in comparison with the previous three years.
Furthermore, the ports authority confirmed that all food related shipments imported during Ramadan have been cleared from the harbor.
The chief executive of MPL Mr. Shahid Ali noted the company's objective during Ramadan had been to clear food and similar perishables from the commercial harbor site.
Consignees were encouraged with prompt clearance of their respective cargo, especially food and perishables.
Statistics further attests to seamless clearance operations at MPL harbor sites, according to Mr. Ali.
Moreover, Mr. Mohamed Maseeh, the Chief of Operations of MPL affirmed that the commercial harbor's site had been the busiest during the past three weeks, so far in 2022.
