Independent institutions have no use if budget is not granted for them- Gasim

Jumhooree Party leader and Maamigili MP Gasim Ibrahim has said that the independent institutions have no use if the government does not grant them the necessary budget they need for functioning.
He said that the lack of appropriate budget allocated for independent institutions is a big concern and it means that the government does not give much importance to these institutions and find them useless.
“This is the question that comes to mind and this is the answer that comes to mind. I wonder if this is the right question and if this is the right answer. Regardless, the constitution clearly stipulates to uphold independent institutions,” he said.
Gasim said that the works of the independent institutions will be questionable if the government withholds the budget allocated.
“If this is not so, then what I know is that there will not be a check and balance system. Everything will go haywire,” he said.
