Warner Bros. has sought out Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne for the lead role of Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Author J.K Rowling has her hands full with project and is currently carrying out the scripting work for the movie. Director David Yates، has been roped-in for feature project.
The new story is set، round about 70 years before the events of first Harry Potter novel (and movie)، and follows a fictitious author named Newton Artemis Fido Scamander. In Potter lore، Scamander had compiled a reference guide to mystical beasts، and the movie follows his adventures upon being commissioned to write the tome.
According to an article in The Hollywood Reporter، Redmayne will be filling the role of Scamander، however the actor has still not given a gree-to-go signal to the project. One reason for this is mainly due to the script’s status of work-in-progress and Redmayne will not commit unless he reads the script.
Eddie Redmayne has become Warner Bros. studio’s favourite since his powerful presence in Jupiter Ascending، and the actor has since then become a sensational icon for his outstanding portrayal of Stephen Hawking، in The Theory Of Everything for which he nabbed an Oscar as well.
