Amnesty International to release report of concern over Maldive-situation

Amnesty International has announced they will disclose the detailed report on the state of Maldives based their investigation when they visited Maldives last week.
According to Amnesty’s investigation، they had collected evidence over the discrepancies and corruption in the Judiciary system، with justice not prevailing at the court of Maldives، assault on peaceful protesters and journalists، missing Joe-cases، as well as the death penalty issue in the judicial system of Maldives.
Evidence was collected to file a report on the case of former President Mohamed Nasheed’s trial، which according to Amnesty will come under unfair trials carried in Maldives.
The press conference for the disclosure of human rights issues present at Maldives will be held at New Delhi، India. In the press conference، Amnesty International will detail their report based on evidence and interviews from various sources they had conducted from 17th April until their stay.
In addition to this، the organization explained they had visited and discussed with social and political activists، human rights entities and activists، lawyers and journalists in order to gain information about the Maldivian human rights issues.
