Bileydhoo Constituency MP and Jumhooree Party (JP) Parliamentary Group (PG) member Ahmed Mubeen has stated that JP will always be in support of any measure that would grant equal rights to all citizens.
He made the statement speaking in the Parliament deliberations to standardize Ramadan allowance for all civil servants to MVR 3000.
Mubeen stated that as standardizing Ramadan allowance was beneficial to all, he and JP supported the measure.
Many of the Parliament Members who had spoken on the issue called on the Government to be fair and to standardize all the allowances and incentives granted and pledged to the Government.
As such, many MP’s highlighted the differences in basic health care between high ranking officials of the State and basic civil service employees. They said that this was especially unfair given that all employees of the State were being paid for by public coffers. The MPs had called for standardizing basic essential services for all.
