Prime Minister Sharif had previously confirmed his arrival. However, he had sent a letter cancelling the visit to the President’s Office last week. Sharif cancelled the visit due to a severe flooding in Pakistan’s Chithral, displacing thousands of families. While a bulk of the region remains flooded, Sharif was forced to cancel his visit to the region because worsening weather. He will visit the district as soon as he is able to. President Yamin invited Prime Minister Sharif during his official trip to Pakistan in May. The President’s Office is yet to receive a response to its letter to President Sirisena.
