The President’s Office has announced the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina would be travelling to the Maldives on a state visit from December 22-23, 2021. The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, extended during his state visit to Bangladesh in March 2021.
During this visit, Maldives and Bangladesh would hold official talks between the two governments and a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) would be signed. Fisheries, human resources, and education are among the key areas the two countries enjoy close cooperation in. The President’s Office noted the numerous high-level exchanges between the two countries would deepen existing ties and further strengthen bilateral relations.
