An Indian military ship in the Maldives for a joint training with Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), has run aground on a reef near Male’.
A witness who spoke to Sun told that the Indian Coastguard ship ‘Vajra’ wrecked on Hudhuveli reef in Male’ atoll, where two resorts are operated.
According to the witness. The military ship had deeply wrecked the reef.

The two resorts located on the reef are Villa Nautica, formerly known as Paradise Island Resort, and Gili Lankanfushi Maldives.
When questioned regarding the incident, MNDF’s media official said the Indian Coastgaurd shop ‘ICJS Vajra’, in the Maldives for Exercise Dosti, has now been refloated.
The official did not provide any further details.
Earlier this morning, MNDF announced the arrival of two Indian military ships and a dornier flight in addition to Sri Lankan military ship for a trilateral exercise. The exercise is held on an annual basis.
