The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) is holding a military exhibition this afternoon in GDh. Thinadhoo City to commemorate this year’s Victory Day.
The exhibition, part of MNDF’s nationwide events to honor the memory of Victory Day, is being held in Thinadhoo in remembrance of Shaheed Corporal Abdullah Zuhair — the first soldier martyred during the November 3, 1988, attack.
According to MNDF, the exhibition will feature a Victory Day photo display, military showcases, and a family evening. The events will take place today and tomorrow at GDh. Atoll Education Centre.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and again from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM today. Tomorrow, it will continue from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
The November 3 attack remains one of the darkest moments in Maldivian history, during which 8 soldiers and 11 civilians were martyred defending the country’s independence. MNDF stated that the exhibition aims to honor these national heroes and reignite the patriotic spirit of Victory Day.
