President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom arrived back in Malé this morning, concluding his official visit to some islands in Haddhummathi Atoll.
During this visit, the President commemorated the renaming of “Kaddhoo Airport” to “Iskandhar Air Base” and inaugurated the new Maavashu Mosque, “Masjid Bilaal”, built with grant aid from Saudi Arabia.
The President also inaugurated Gan Island’s Sewerage System and commemorated the successful relocation of the residents of Gaadhoo island to Fonadhoo island.
The President was accompanied during the visit by Minister of Environment and Energy; Hon. Thoriq Ibrahim, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure; Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Minister of Islamic Affairs; Dr. Ahmed Ziyad and Minister of Tourism; Hon. Moosa Zameer.
