MPL has increased in productivity with the introduction of new vehicles brought from China. Now they are clearing cargo ships within 18 hours which previously took 16 days to clear.
In a ceremony held last night to introduce 10 new vehicles to MPL operations, the CEO of MPL Muhammad Junaid said that they cleared a cargo ship with more than 450 containers within 18 hours and loaded 90 containers to the ship within the same period.
He said that previously, MPL was not able to provide these services because these vehicles were not available. “ We just had 2 vehicles that were bought 15 years ago. They are always in need of servicing. The 6 new vehicles we have allows us to keep 4 in reserve “ said Junaid.
He further said that it will be a high priority to service the vehicles and to provide services without any disruptions. He said that soon, they will send staffs for training so that they can repair the vehicles.
Junaid said that presently they are clearing 250 containers per day and hence they can provide services the businesses community requires.
He said that the businesses plays a huge role in the development of the country and hence they need to be provided with the services they require to develop the nation.
He further said that the achievements of the government in a short period shows how capable President Yameen is. “ One of his higher priority is to provide services to the businesses. When we talked about ordering these vehicles, the opposition said that it cannot be done. They said that based on experience. Now they can’t say it” said Junaid.
