Government will work to get the latest Sports equipment and facilities to the Youth، Government will do it’s best، says Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed. 
Speaking in the function held at Sun Island on Saturday night to officially inaugurate Fourth Carom World Cup، Vice President Dr. Jameel said Carom has been a famous sport among Maldivians.

Vice President said that Carom is classified as a traditional sport in Maldives.
Highlighting on previous National and International carom tournaments held in Maldives، Vice President said that this tournament is the first of it;s kind to be held in Maldives.
He expressed his gratitude to everyone who help organize to hold the Carom World Cup.
“Our aim is to fulfill the needs of the youth. With the work of Government to develop the equipment and service in Health Sector and Education Sector، we will also work to establish the latest Sports equipment and facilities for the youth،” Vice President Dr. Jameel said.
He said that the Government will empower Carom and other sports.

In addition to Vice President، Minister of Youth and Sports Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal، Managing Director of State Trading Organization Adam Azim، participants of the tournament، sponsors، staffs from Sun Island attended the function held at Sun Island on Saturday night.
In the National Carom squad، from Maldives includes four women and four men.
The four women of the National Team are Fathmath Rayaan، Aishath Vishama، Aishath Fainaaz، and Aminath Nifasha. The four men of the National Team are Hassan Nazim، Ahmed Haamid، Shaafy Mohamed، and Althaaf Waheed.
Other countries participating in The Fourth Carom World Cup includes England، Italy، France، Germany، Poland، Sri Lanka، India، Japan and South Korea.
The Fourth Carom World Cup will be held at Sun Island Resort، until 17th September. The first of it’s kind was held in England. The second World Cup was held in France and the third one in America.
