Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Shiham has said that the ministry of education, the schools and teachers are all well prepared and ready for the academic New Year.
In a press conference held to brief the media about the preparations of the ministry for the new academic year, the minister said that all schools will be commencing their classes with the beginning of the new academic year.
She said that all schools have all the teachers and the resources they need.
“I am saying this with certainty. All schools will start teaching. All schools have all the teachers and the resources they need,” she said.
Minister Dr. Shiham said that the biggest concern raised by the teachers was the issue of salaries and now it has also been increased with the beginning of the new academic year.
The permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr. Abdul Muhsin said that the ministry wants to give the teachers a salary that they are worth. He said that the salaries are divided into three parts in this regard considering the education, experience and competency of the teachers.
