Maldives Islamic Bank has opened a branch in Kulhudhufushi and started their services in Kulhudhufushi today.
Officials say that this branch will provide the same services as other Islamic Bank branches in Maldives. Those services include ATM service، Shariah compliant saving and current accounts and business financing services. Also credit facility service will be provided.
This is the second bank in Kulhudufushi. Previously the only bank in the island was a branch of Bank of Maldives. It is expected that this new  bank will bring a lot of developments to the economy of northern atolls. Opening a branch in Kulhudufushi is part of the bank’s strategic developmental plan. At the moment they have branches in Addu، Thinadhoo and Male.
