Maldivian passport receives international acclimation

The Maldivian e-passport has been given the IAIR award for being the most secure passport and having the most secure e-gate, PR Newswire reported on Saturday.
The IAIR Award is an international award given for leadership and innovation.
According to sources, the Controller of Immigration for Maldives, Mohamed Anwar and his deputy, Abdulla Algeen accepted the award on behalf of Maldives. The award was given at a special ceremony held on Friday in Milan, Italy.
"The Maldivian e-passport released in 2016 has 27 of the most developed security features currently in existence incorporated in it. This is why it is one of the most secure and developed passports in the world. Every visa page of the passport is designed in new, innovative ways. The passport is also very durable due to its polycarbonate data pages," the PR Newswire stated as the reason the Maldivian passport was given the award.
The new passport was designed by the German-based Dermalong Company in 2015 in accordance to the demands set by the Maldivian Immigration.
