A youth was arrested with half a kilogram of drugs during an operation conducted on Monday as part of the broader nationwide counternarcotics campaign, Operation Alimagu.
The Police said the youth was arrested in an operation conducted based on a tip received to Counter Narcotics Intelligence.
The suspect arrested has been identified as Ibrahim Amr Thaufeeq, Sifco Hiyaa 0801 B, Hulhumale'. 
According to the Police, Amr was arrested on suspicion of possession, use and sale of drugs.
The Police detailed that 500 grams of substances suspected to be drugs were seized from Amr following his arrest.
He has been remanded in custody for five days upon presentation before the court. 
The case is under further investigation.
