President calls to fact check rumors in his new year message

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged the public to fact-check rumors and has emphasized the importance of making it a resolution for the new year.
President Muizzu made these remarks in his New Year greeting address.
He underscored the importance of peace and thoughtfulness for progress, urging everyone to uphold self-integrity and refrain from believing rumors without fact-checking them.
Speaking in this regard, President Muizzu highlighted that citizens made significant decisions contributing to a prosperous future in the past year.
He added that the people chose to reject the presence of foreign military in the Maldives, opting instead for prosperity and development, akin to other nations.
President Muizzu highlighted that the Maldivian public has chosen to develop its future generations rooted in the principles of Islam while embracing the national identity. He also pledged to remain truthful to the duties entrusted by the citizens, assuring that his administration would work towards fulfilling the needs of the people.
He also noted that in the last two weeks of 2023 and during the first week of the new year, the government has been fulfilling its pledges on the 'Week-14' roadmap, part of the first 100-day commitments, right on time and according to the promised conditions.
