Brigadier General Ahmed Nasheed has retired honorably from Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) after 37 years of service.
MNDF said Nasheed retired during a ceremony held at Bandaarakoshi auditorium on Saturday night.
During the ceremony, Defense Minister Ghassan Maumoon presented Nasheed a special letter from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. Meanwhile, Chief of Defense Force, Major General Ibrahim Hilmy presented Nasheed a special letter from MNDF and a decoration board representing his sincere service and Vice Chief of Defense Force, Brigadier General presented Nasheed with the commemorative retirement card.

According to MNDF, at the time of his retirement, Nasheed was serving as Director General of the Directorate of Logistics and Resource Management and Commander Ordnance Service.
Apart from these posts, during Nasheed’s 37-year-long service, he held the following positions: Principal Director of the Directorate of Logistics and Resource Management, Commanding Officer of the Ordnance Service, Commanding Officer of the Quarter Master Service, Commanding Officer of the Special Protection Group, and Commanding Officer of the Transport Service.
He also held the positions of Commanding Officer of the Supply Unit and Assistant to the Commanding Officer of the Supply Unit.

Nasheed’s retirement ceremony was attended by MNDF’s general officers, unit commanders, warrant officers, command sergeant majors and personnel from the Directorate of Logistics and Resource Management and Ordnance Service.
