JP expresses concern over ACC's probe into Villa Group case despite Supreme Court ruling

Jumhooree Party has expressed concern over the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)’s decision to probe into the settlement agreements between the state and Villa Group, a company founded by party leader Qasim Ibrahim, despite the Supreme Court had already issued a verdict in the case.
Speaking at a press conference held on Saturday, JP’s Secretary General Ahmed Sameer said that neither ACC nor any other institutions have the authority to make an argument against the final verdict issued by the Supreme Court of the Maldives.
Sameer said that it is a matter of 'deep concern' that the commission is conducting this investigation under the tyranny of incumbent President Abdulla Yameen, adding that such matters are surfacing while 'the Presidential Election is upon us'.
The ACC has decided to appeal at the Prosecutor General’s office after investigating the case, in order to press charges against former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb. RaajjeMV understands that 
RaajjeMV understands that ACC's investigation showed that the agreements are void ab initio as the case involved a hefty amount of money, and to ask the PG Office to press charges against the former VP.
Adeeb was not questioned in the investigation.
