Commissioner of Police, Hussein Waheed has said that it is worrying that Islamic groups are linked to the disappearance of the Minivannews journalist Ahmed Ridwan as it will increase the grief of the family and friends of Ridwan.
He said that those who are making such stories are doing something very irresponsible to achieve their political motives.
The Commissioner said that it is not from the best interest of the state to make such a claim in such a time. He said that these accusations will bring more unhappiness to the family of Ridwan. He assured that the Maldives Police Service is still working on the case to find him.
In addition to this, the commissioner noted that many spread false reports regarding these major cases under investigation by the Police.
