Ambassador of China in the Maldives, Wang Fukang has said that China will always promote the development of China-Maldives friendly relations.
He made this remark in his speech at the ceremony held to sign the agreement between the ministry of National Defence of the people’s republic of China and the ministry of defence and national security of the republic of Maldives on China’s provision of military assistance gratis to Maldives.
“This is another fruitful achievement between China and Maldives in the exchanges and cooperation in defence area, which will intensify the mutual trust between our two militaries and promote the development of China-Maldives friendly relations,” he said.
“With the support and care of our two heads of state, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Maldives President Yameen, the China-Maldives Future-Oriented All-round Friendly and Cooperative Partnership have been growing smoothly, including defence area. Recent years we have seen high level military exchanges, MNDF personnel training and deepened cooperation. A high level delegation of the ministry of defence and national security of the Maldives attended the XiangShan Forum and conducted in-depth exchanges with the Chinese Defence Ministry in the end of last year. After that, delegation from China Denfence Ministry visited Maldives for the consultation of the provision of medical ambulance gratis to Maldives,” he said.
The Chinese Ambassador expressed hopes that the development of relations between china and Maldives in military area will promote China-Maldives Future-Oriented All-round Friendly and Cooperative Partnership to a new high stage.
