United Nations Assistant Secretary General, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Jenĉa and Mr. Shin Umezu, Acting Chief of Asia and the Pacific Division at the Department of Political Affairs of the United Nations, departed from Maldives this afternoon. Mr. Jenĉa visited the Maldives on an invitation extended by the Government.
During this visit, Mr. Jenĉa met with the President of Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon, senior officials of the Government and members of the political parties.
H.E. Mr. Miroslav Jenĉa was seen off by Foreign Secretary His Excellency Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed.
