It has been confirmed that Imaduddeen School in Male is investigating a serious case of a teacher continuously bullying one of her students.
An incident about a group of students، and later a teacher bullying a young female student in Imaduddeen School for months، spread like wildfire over the Maldivian community on Facebook earlier yesterday.
A user on Facebook declaring to be the aunt of the bullied spoke out on social media today، claiming that her niece’s classmates had been calling her mean things، and had been discriminating her by leaving her out whilst celebrating special occasions.
Moreover، when the victimized student complained about this to the teacher، she too started discrimination on her، and allegedly started to fail her in tests on purpose.
Due to this، the student’s mother met with Imaduddeen School’s deputy principal. But the student received a “threat” from the teacher، saying that if again her mother visits the deputy principal، then she would be thrown out of the school building.
The statement on Facebook by the aunt stated that on Monday night، the whole family tried to meet with the school’s principal، but instead they came across the “bully teacher”، who called the little girl a mean word in Dhivehi which is equivalent to a “dog”.
Speaking to “Vaguthu” tonight، Imaduddeen School’s principal Mohamed Shaheem said that since this case is being seriously investigated within his school and management، he would not comment on the case.
Meanwhile، pictures and contact number of the teacher who allegedly bullied and threatened her student is being circulated over social media، along with her address and National Identity Card number.
